Maxine Saunders, CHS, CPCA

Principal Consultant

For more than 30 years, Maxine has been providing her clients with sound advice. Her goal is to transform – what is often for many organizations an anxiety provoking activity, into an enjoyable and empowering experience for her plan sponsor clients. Her focus is to build long-term, collaborative relationships with her clients, with an emphasis on personal service. Maxine recognizes that it takes so much more than simply products to plan for an organization’s future. She must be there through the ups and downs of a plan sponsor’s benefit and group savings plan cycle – and plan changes, to facilitate the ongoing plan management process.

Professional and compliant conduct is at the core value in her practice. Maxine enjoys being active in her industry. She is a member of the Financial Advisors Association of Canada (Advocis) and serves on the local board of directors as the Professional Development Chair. She holds the CHS (Certified Health Specialist) and CPCA (Certified Professional Consultant on Aging) designations, and continues to attend numerous seminars and educational programs.

When not helping clients, Maxine enjoys spending time with her husband Michael and her family. Maxine and Michael enjoy volunteering in the community and spending time in the outdoors. She is very committed to physical fitness, and is a regular participant in numerous community fitness activities.

Cindy Houghton

Employee Benefits Specialist and Broker

With over thirty years of Employee Benefits experience, Cindy has worked with Maxine Saunders for twenty years, and for the past eleven years in her current role as Employee Benefits Specialist. Prior to the November 1999, Cindy worked for local Group Insurance providers such as Confederation Life, Manulife Financial Group Benefits and Provident.

Cindy holds a Level II Life, Sickness and Accident Insurance License with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA), as well as the following accreditations: Health Insurance Associate (HIA), Certified Health Specialist (CHS) and Group Benefits Associate (GBA), and Chartered Professional Marketer (CPM). She is currently working towards the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation.

Cindy is a member in good standing of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIMMO), Independent Financial Brokers of Ontario, Advocis – London Chapter, and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. Cindy also serves on the Advocis London Chapter Board of Directors.

When not serving clients or volunteering, Cindy enjoys traveling with her spouse, cottage life and beach combing, working in the garden, the “lost arts” of embroidery, knitting, crocheting; and spending time with her extended family and friends.

Kathryn Young

Reception, Client Service and Administration

Kathryn joined our team in 2013 when we purchased *Cassis-McLean Financial Services Inc.” She had been with CMFS for close to 20 years. We are very grateful to have Kathryn as she is a real “people person” who takes pride in her work and strives to provide excellent client service.

Many of you who have called-in to speak to Maxine or Cindy have been greeted by Kathryn Young’s warm, enthusiastic voice, and personal manner. Kathryn is our “communications front line” extraordinaire, and will route your telephone call to Maxine, Cindy, or any one of our other team members.

Staff Bookkeeper/Accountant

Leo is our in-house Bookkeeper and Accountant. Leo is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), in good standing. He also manages ongoing financial-oriented technological solutions, and their associated maintenance.
